This week I had the privilege to interview Diane Braswell from Marathon Mama. Diane writes about her life as a mother of four, career woman, and marathon runner. Scroll down to read my exclusive interview with Diane.
HM: Where are you from?
Diane: Rockledge, Florida
HM: When did you start blogging?
Diane: This January (2009)
HM: Why do you blog?
Diane: I would like to share my story with others in hopes of encouraging other moms to get out and run.
HM: What is your blog about?
Diane: Marathonmama is about the trials and tribulations of training for and running marathons while balancing being a mom of 4 children, a career, and "life" in general. The goal is to share my story and help people understand that anyone can get out there, get moving, and get healthy.
HM: What are your ultimate goals for your blog?
Diane: I would like my blog to generate a following of other moms who are interested in running. Possibly even start local chapters of, "marathonmamas".
HM: What do you want your readers to get out of your blog?
Diane: I would like my readers to understand that running and fitness can be for everyone. It is possible to manage a family, and still find time to keep yourself in good shape and healthy. Moms often spend so much time with the children that they forget about taking care of themselves. I would like this blog to be able to support anyone who is interested in taking a chance and trying running.
HM: What do you do to get your readers to keep coming back?
Diane: I try to have honest, open discussions about real topics.
HM: Do you have any favorite blogs or any blogs that you read regularly?
Diane: I am new to blogging so I have not come across any yet. I am always looking.
HM: Do you have any advice for other bloggers?
Diane: To keep it real and have fun.
