One out of every 150 kids are diagnosed with autism. Doctors and parent's are more aware of the disorder and more information about autism is known today.
The media has painted a grim picture of autism. But parents of autistic children know that although it can be challenging taking care of an autistic child really isn't that bad. Jen and Jeff Westphal, parents of an autistic child and founder's of Kyle's Treehouse created Autism 151, a website specifically for parents of autistic children. On Autisim 151 they are posting videos of families with autistic children. Their goal is to have 150 videos up by April 30, 2009.
The Westphal's state on their website, "We know that there are amazing stories of hope everywhere- in the US and around the world. Through Autism 151, we strive to bring these stores together onone website, allowing us to share them with each other and the world.
They only have a few more weeks to collect over 100 more videos so I am reaching out to my readers to help spread this message. If you are a parent or caregiver of an autistic child you can visit Autism 151 and share your video. If you are a blogger and care about this great cause please spread this message on your blog. Help the Westphal's reach their goal of collecting 150 videos by the end of this month. Vist Autism 151 today.
