This week I interviewed Jennifer Nordin from Oils for Wellness. Jennifer is a Christian mom from my home state of Wisconsin. She is also a small business owner and aromatherapy practitioner. Her blog will teach you more about aromatherapy and how you can use it to improve your overall health. Scroll down to read my exclusive interview with Jennifer.

HM: Where are you from?
Jennifer: Hudson, Wisconsin

HM: When did you start blogging?
Jennifer: July 2008

HM: Why do you blog?
Jennifer: I love to blog because it combines three passions in life-my Christian faith, natural medicine and writing. It has become a tool to help others make positive changes in their lives, which is keeps me excited and motivated every day!

HM:What is your blog about?
Jennifer: Oils For Wellness offers aromatherapy mentorship to those who want to learn how and why pure therapeutic essential oils can benefit our everyday lives. Pure essential oils are fragrant, fascinating and fun! I love to think of them as a healing gift from nature-”God’s love manifest in molecules”. I desire for my blog to provide a resource for information regarding natural medicine and aromatherapy that is presented from a Christian perspective.

HM: What are your ultimate goals for your blog?
Jennifer: Of course I would like to increase the volume of readership! I enjoy developing personal relationships with my followers so more lives can benefit from the amazing healing potential of pure, plant oils. In order to receive a small financial compensation for the free aromatherapy consultation that I provide, I would also like to experience more sales of Young Living essential oils and products that are featured on my blog.

HM: What do you want your readers to get out of your blog?
Jennifer: I would like readers to really be aware that not all things commercially dubbed as "aromatherapy" is actually beneficial for our health, some scents/essential oils are meant for therapeutic/medicinal use and some are not. Also my philosophy is that anyone can learn "everyday" aromatherapy, you don't have to be an expert to begin using essential oils to make positive changes in your health and well being.

HM: What do you do to get your readers to keep coming back?
Jennifer: A variety of useful information broken down into small, concise, and practical posts. I also like to include inspiring quotes and fun giveaways occasionally.

HM: Do you have any favorite blogs or any blogs that you read regularly?
Jennifer: Oceans From The Rain, My Charming Kids, FourBy40, 5 Minutes For Mom, For The Love of Lavender

HM: Do you have any advice for other bloggers?
Jennifer: Be patient getting followers, especially during the first six months.
Post short, concise posts more often instead of long, rambling ones now and then to "catch up".
Leave the music OFF!
List your blog in as many directories as you can in the appropriate catagory.
Get involved in as many giveaways and blogging groups as possible to meet new blog friends and followers.
