The 44th annual Pillsbury Bake Off is in full swing and you are invited to be a judge!

How does the judging work? Visit the Pillsbury Bake Off website from now until October 1, 2009 and register at Pillsbury.com. You can then vote online once for each pair of recipes in the competition. The first pair of recipes was posted on May 14, 2009 and a new pair of recipes will be posted every two weeks. Registered judges can vote up until October 1, 2009. You must be at least 18 in order to be a judge in this competition.

This video will assist you in choosing the winning recipe.

Pillsbury is also giving away two prize packs to Healthy Moms readers. The prize includes a magazine of past Bake-Off® recipes and a Pillsbury Dough boy giggle doll.

To participate in this giveaway all you need to do is leave a comment stating what you think makes a winning recipe. This contest is open to residents of the US and Canada 18 years and older and runs until Monday June 15, 2009 midnight PST.

what makes a winning recipe is something nutritious, full of taste,
(not always the same thing)and made of ingredients that are accessible to ordinary shoppers.

For me, a winning recipe is one that tastes great, has some zip to it, and uses mostly ingredients I have in my kitchen

I would say the ease of making it, without a lot of ingredients and the length of time, of course the flavor is the main thing.Sometimes more is not better, less can be really good.
Thanks for the contest, I can use this, I am still learning to cook after all these years !

A winning recipe comes from years of care preparing it for the family, so much so, that it is now put together completely from memory and doesn't require a step-by-step written recipe.

easy to fix, no exotic ingredients (just those most people have around), and above all, TASTY!

I believe what makes a winning recipe is the ease in preparation, time it takes to prepare, and knowing just the right ingredient to add to make the recipe kick.

A winning recipe is one that you enjoy making and then sitting down at the table to eat with others

A winning recipe:
1. is incredibly easy, but unique
or
2. has an unusual assortment of ingredients, but they're all staples in a reasonably well-stocked pantry

I think a winning recipe needs to be different. Maybe an International regional dish that not everyone has experienced. The ingredients should not be too expensive.

I think what makes a winning recipe is simplicity. I think something that is simple yet tasty makes a winning combination. Thank you for the chance

the recipes that are winners to me are ones that i can prepare simply. something that goes down to the basics and incorporates vibrant flavors. something with a grain like quinoa and a green like chard or kale and delicious spices and seasonings and some lemon or lime juice... yum! the fewer the ingredients, the better. but i love things that are as down to nature as possible.
