This week I had the honor of interviewing blogger, mom, Certified Personal Trainer with American Council on Exercise, Author and creator of Transformations 4 Life, Julie Wilcoxson.
HM: Where are you from?
Julie: I am originally from Central Florida, lived there all of my life until 2.5 years ago when we moved our family to the Middle Tennessee area. We are loving it here, we've made a lot of wonderful friendships, and are part of a fantastic and loving church.
HM:When did you start blogging?
Julie: I have been blogging for a couple of months now. Still learning some new little techniques to it. I love to blog about health and motivate others, especially moms to put themselves on their daily to do list.
HM:Why do you blog?
Julie: I love to blog about health and fitness! My passion is motivating others, especially moms to put themselves on their daily to do list. As a mom, I recognize the fact that we put ourselves last to take care of everyone else in our households. I want to teach moms that in order to have a healthy balanced home, you have to dedicate a portion of that time to yourself everyday.
HM: What is your blog about?
Julie: Health, nutrition, recipes, motivation, tips, and exercise. I try to include some challenges to help women get over their obstacles.
HM: What are your ultimate goals for your blog?
Julie: My ultimate goal is to have women come to my blog to get them moving in the right direction. I want to be their motivating source when the simply don't feel like exercising or eating healthy. I want moms to be the healthy role models in their childrens' lives.
HM: What do you want your readers to get out of your blog?
Julie: It is my intent for readers to walk away with a sense of responsibility to themselves to put their health first and not take it for granted. Women need to realize their children learn everything from them. If they see mom put everyone else first and never herself, they learn to devalue their selves as well.
HM: What do you do to get your readers to keep coming back?
Julie: I blog often and try to teach them tips and tricks to make life easier! I try to post topics that are important enough that the readers come back to my blog over and over to learn something.
HM: Do you have any favorite blogs or any blogs that you read regularly?
Julie: Chalene Johnson is a great motivational blog.
HM: Do you have any advice for other bloggers?
Julie: Keep at it! Blog often, give your readers something to take away from your words. Talk about subjects that are important to you, tips you have learned.
