Twelve Days of Christmas Giveaway | Skin MD Shielding Lotion

On the eighth day of Christmas my friends at Healthy Moms gave to me...Skin MD shielding lotion.

As a stay-at-home mom of small children I'm constantly washing my hands. Hand washing and soaps can irritate your skin and strip away it's natural oils. Traditional hand lotions don't always stay on your hands through constant washing. Cold dry winter air can also make dry skin much worse.

After trying Skin MD Natural shielding lotion I was amazed with the results. I placed about a pea sized amount on my hands and rubbed it all over. The dry itchy spots in between my fingers immediately soaked up the lotion. My hands felt refreshed but not sticky. After repeated hand washing Skin MD Natural stayed in my skin.

How does shielding lotion work? According to Dr. Brian Zogg, board certified dermatologist, "Shielding lotions are lotions that form a protective shield with the outer layer of skin and help keep out irritants and chemicals. They also allow the natural oils and moisture to remain in the skin so it can heal better."

What is the difference between shielding lotions and traditional lotions? Dr. Zogg explains, "A fundamental difference between Shielding Lotions and traditional lotions is that shielding lotions enhance the skin's own natural protective abilities by turning the outer layer of skin into what could be described as a hydrating invisible shield making them many times more effective than mere protective lotions and moisturizing cremes. With a shielding lotion you replace the outer layer and protect the natural oils and moisture in your skin, so it heals faster."

My son has multiple food intolerance. One of his common reactions to this problem is eczema breakouts and dry itchy skin. With regular use, Skin MD Natural has been proven to help heal eczema by increasing the skin's natural moisture. For natural skin care I recommend this product.

This lotion can be used all over your body even on your face. It will not clog your pores or lead to acne. Skin MD Natural can be purchased at your local pharmacy or Walgreens. Visit their store locator at: http://www.skinmdnatural.com/store-locator.html to find a store near you. Or you can enter for a chance to win this by leaving us a comment.

*Disclosure per new FTC Guidelines. I received a bottle of Skin MD Shielding Lotion in exchange for this review. All opinions are true and 100% mine.

Oh this sounds like a good product for me... I am sensitive to cold weather and my skins breaks and itches all the time! Making it look like I got some fungi infection but it isn't... looks like I can use this for my body I would presume :).

I love that you could use the same product for body and face, and that all members of the family could use the same lotion. How convenient! It would help to get rid of all those different bottles of lotion taking up space in the bathroom. Can't wait to try Skin MD!

this is great for this time of year, not a heavy lotion, but one that keeps your skin soft and not greasy!

I am a frequent hand washer and that strips your skin of natural oils. I need a really good repair lotion and I think Skin MD would be a huge help.

I've been wanting to try this stuff forever but I can't find it. The site recommends the Kmart down the street, but so far, they've never had any when I looked for it.
