7. Letting your toy play hide and seek in a trash can is a bad idea.

6. Babies laugh if they are pulled across the carpet.

You forgot "Clean shirts on parents are wonderful targets for practicing digested food projection"

Great list and I think we have learned all of those!

Those were great! Loved this post :-)

And, in response to your comment on my blog last week - I don't think I would have time for American Idol, either, this year with 4 kids - I am sure they keep you plenty entertained!

If we only knew these things before having children. It is a true case of live and learn.

In the spirit of discussing things we've learned since parenthood, I would like to contribute an article I've recently read called the "impact renting has on kids" by the home loan academy. The findings of this study are things all parents should be aware of.

Although I no longer rent, it was worrisome to learn about all the surprisingly negative effects that renting can have on a child's mental and physical health. A couple things found in the study that stuck with me were that kids in rented homes are more likely to become pregnant in their teens, have behavioral problems and do worse in school. The article said that these problems have been known to affect children into adulthood. The divorce rate was even found to be higher between couple's living in rented homes -- yikes!

Anyhow, I felt it was my responsibility to share this with my fellow parents.
