All of these are preventable through proper diet and exercise. The American Heart Association recommends that adults have 4-5 servings each of fruits and vegetables every day, eat more whole grains, use liquid vegetable oils, eat more chicken, fish and beans learn how to read food labels and participate in regular physical activity.

Adults should exercise for at least 30 minutes a day for five days a week in order to maintain a healthy weight. Physical activity can be anything from aerobic, walking, running, bike riding, participating in a sport or strength training or a combination of all of the above.
